In response to an aging base infrastructure and the pending deployment of next generation fighter aircraft into RAAF Williamtown, the Department of Defence commissioned an extensive refit and build program to commence in late 2017. Known as R8000 the project would see over 3,500 personnel engaged over three years.
This large program of works included extensive audio-visual and video conferencing including digital signage, small huddle spaces, medium to large meeting rooms, theatrettes, and multiple classification Sensitive Compartmentalised Information Facility’s (SCIF’s). The Department of Defence required an adaptive and modern approach to design, procure, implement, install, and support audio-visual rooms that enabled the free and welcoming usability for members of the base. CitadelTech completed the detailed design, equipment supply, system implementation (including supply and installation of required patching cables between wall interface plates and equipment), control programming, system commissioning, testing, handover, and provision of operation and maintenance.
CitadelTech successfully completed the complex AV component for the R8000 project. Commissioning of secure video conferencing spaces (secret and top-secret classifications) required significant coordination with IT stakeholders for specific network access and appropriate infrastructure support.
