Overview
The ACT Traffic Management Centre (TMC) required a fully commissioned and supported control room grade video wall system, capable of taking inputs from multiple video sources including network streams, and flexibly displaying them on multiple screens at multiple locations within the same building. The TMC is a specialised location and system for overseeing transport strategies such as traffic signal control, incident management, special event planning and provision of traveller information. These would allow the best possible travel times to be achieved across the road network for all road users.

CitadelTech were asked to design, supply, deliver, install, commission and provide ongoing support and maintenance of the Video Wall System. The video wall solution provided consisted of 6 x large wall-mounted, connected Christie® LCD displays. This product was chosen due to its commercial high quality and reliable control room display and video processing technology. The Christie® tiled LCD panels offer a flexible platform for the 24/7 indoor video wall application. The extreme-narrow bezel widths of these screens allowed for a near-seamless display for traffic management.
Control room
CitadelTech provided a control room solution that allowed for seamless access and control of audiovisual data from virtually anywhere, through a single, robust system. Furthermore, this scalable solution allows TMC to allow even modest installations to grow over time without system redesign. Finally, the system needed to be able to cope during busy situations and ensure reliability. To achieve this, we have provided an ongoing support management service with guaranteed mean time to repair of 30 minutes.
Results
CitadelTech successfully delivered the TMC a solution that was cost effective, reliable and capable of taking numerous video source inputs and displaying them on multiple screens in different locations within the same building.
